Origin of Tharparkar Cow
Tharparkar cow is found in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. This breed has originated from “Malani” in the Barmer district of Rajasthan.
This breed is also called “Malani breed” due to its origins in a place called Malani. This cow is also found in large numbers in Kutch of Gujarat.
It is the popularity that Tharparkar is the only race that Krishna had. In western Rajasthan, this cow is called “Kamdhenu”.
Tharparkar animal features
Tharparkar Cow is beautiful in appearance. Its body is also very well developed.
Body Size: Tharparkar Cow weighs about 400 kgs and 450 kg of bulls.
Height (height): The height of these cows with normal stature is three to three and four feet in height.
Colors: The color is white and grey. The face and upper part are darker than the rest of the body.
The bull’s neck, hunch and buttock are also darker than the body.

थारपारकर गाय की उत्पत्ति
थारपारकर गाय राजस्थान के Jodhpur और जैसलमेर में पायी जाती है| इस नस्ल की उत्पत्ति Rajasthan के बाड़मेर जिले के “मालाणी” नामक स्थान पर हुई है|
मालाणी नामक स्थान पर उत्पन्न होने के कारण इस नस्ल को “मालाणी नस्ल” भी कहते हैं| गुजरात के कच्छ में भी यह गाय बड़ी संख्या में पायी जाती है|
लोकमान्यता है की Tharparkar ही वो नस्ल है जो श्रीकृष्ण के पास थी| पश्चिमी राजस्थान में इसलिए इस नस्ल की गाय को “कामधेनु” कहते हैं|
थारपारकर पशु की विशेषताएं:-
Tharparkar Cow दिखने में काफी सुन्दर होती है| इसका शरीर भी काफी विकसित रहता है|
(वजन): थारपारकर Cow का वजन लगभग 400 किलोग्राम और बैल का 450 किलोग्राम होता है ।
(उंचाई): सामान्य कद-काठी वाली इन गायों की ऊँचाई साढ़े तीन से पौने चार फीट होती है।
(रंग): इनका रंग सफ़ेद व स्लेटी रंग में होता है | शरीर के बाकी हिस्सों की तुलना में चेहरा और ऊपरी हिस्सा गहरे रंग का होता है|
बैल की गर्दन, कूबड़ और पुट्ठा भी शरीर से गहरे रंग का होता हैं।
(सिर): पूर्ण विकसित माथा|
(कान): इनके कान लम्बे और लटकने वाले होते है |
(सींग): कानों की तरफ़ झुके हुए मध्यम सींग |
(उपजाऊपन): थारपारकर गाय अत्यधिक उपजाऊ होती है |
